What :  Starry Night Hollow Patterns

Starry Night Hollow Patterns - La Dolce Vita or Lake Houses

Join Janis as she teaches you how to make these unique quilt patterns using freezer paper templates. These patterns are a fabulous way to use scrapes in you stash. The largest amount of any one fabric is the fabric used for you background. These quilts are a wonky design so they don’t have to be perfect. In class we will be focused on the technique so you can go home and complete your quilt. Be warned making these patterns is addictive.

Class fee $35

 Supply List

·         Sewing machine with quarter inch foot

·         Thread

·         Scissors for paper cutting

·         Pins

·         Rotary Cutter with sharp blade

·         Ruler (4 ½” x 18 ½” or 6 ½” x 18 ½” worked best for me)

·         Cutting Mat ( 18” x 24”)

·         Black Sharpie Marker fine

·         Seam Ripper

·         Freezer Paper (I will bring a roll to class for the first block)

·         Travel iron or small iron and ironing mat to use at your table. This is not a requirement but will make it easier if you have an iron near your work place.

·         Gallon Size Ziploc Bag

·         Pattern for Quilt

La Dolce Vita fabric for class block 1 and 2

·         Background Sky Fabric ½ yard to 1 yard (more if fabric is directional)

·         Six or so fat eights for the building in block one (fat eight is 9” x 22” so a large scraps will also work. For some of the pieces a 4” square would work).

·         fat quarter for windows

Lake House fabric for class Panel 1

·         1 ½ yard of tree fabric for background. Please note this is a correction to pattern.

·         1/8 yard for windows

·         (12) 4”strips of different blues for water

·         (9) different 9” x 12” fabric for houses in first panel

These quilts are very scrappy. For La Dolce Vita houses, cliff and water I used at least 60 different fabrics. For the houses in the Lake House quilt I used 30 to 35 different fabrics and the water 12 different blues.

Please call or email me with any questions you may have about making one of these quilts.
